We loved Kidepo, but whether “it was worth it” is very subjective. For us, 100% worth it. But if you’re going soley by which animals and how many you will see…hard to say, probably you’ll see everything, and maybe more, at Murchison. That said, Kidepo offers what other parks don’t have: sweeping vistas and overall scenic beauty, wonderful campsites that you will probably be alone at. Campsites have great views. Remote and few other visitors, meaning all sightings are likely yours alone, but you also need to work for them yourself. But it’s a solid full day drive from the north end of Murchison, or some break it up into two days. Up to you.

For Gorillas – it was no problem for us to book only shortly before going, so I think you’d be okay booking your flights and trip first, then fitting in Gorillas where it makes sense.
